Creating abstract work is like dancing with careful attention to each move while being able to surrender to the guidance of an unpredictable partner. For me, this requires entering a flow state and total presence. Magic is possible when these seemingly opposing forces are harmoniously at play. I allow myself to become not only the conduit but the observer as well.
I know there will always be an element of surprise as I paint, which is why it is important to me that the aspects I am able to control are delivered with great intention. This intention manifests in the ceremonial way I create and the materials I use.

Tibetan Singing Bowl
I have synesthesia. I look at a painting and hear music. I hear music and see color. It’s no wonder all my life I’ve been so drawn to create both music and visual art. Due to this intrinsic connection between sight and auditory vibrational awareness, each painting has a particular resonance. All materials are tuned accordingly through sound healing frequencies and a tibetan singing bowl.
Palo Santo is a sustainably sourced holy wood burned to smudge or clear and cleanse a physical space of any undesirable energies. Once the wood has been burned, I mix the ash into my paints.
Cedar has long been used as the wood for doors to sacred temples and is known for its protective nature. In ceremony, it can be used for blessings, focus, grounding of emotions and mental overactivity. I mix powdered cedar into the paint for clients who can benefit from this additional grounding energy.
Sage is used to bless, cleanse and heal people and spaces. We cleanse the physical body by showering, we cleanse the energetic bodies by washing off the outside world with sage. I use sage to cleanse myself, space and materials prior to beginning a project.
Rose, Holy and Rain Water
Why use regular water when you can use rose water, holy water, and rain water?
Rose water is thought to bring the energy of love, femininity and balance. Many ancient cultures used rose water to cleanse the aura and attract positive energy. Peruvian Agua de Florida, is holy water made from the essence of flowers and is used in shamanic healing rituals, for good luck and protection. I collect rain water while traveling as a means to capture the energy of a particular geographical location.
I believe in planting the seed for the vision of the piece with my clients prior to beginning their painting. I do this during a one on one “magic & manifestation” video call session where I can get a read of their auric field and drop into a conversation about what they’d like to see reflected back at them.
When painting original works that are not commissioned, I create from a place of discovery and let the piece inform me about what’s coming through.

“I love that my client becomes my muse and we get to create a vision for their piece together. In doing so, a subconscious connection to what they want reflected back at them is seeded and therefore has the ability to permeate and transform the energy within them and their space.”
